walking up to a butch in a bar and really clicking and then learning that she views herself as having masc qualities to her gender so i rip up my lesbian card (handed to us by the lesbian government and enforced by the lesbian police, or course) and shoot myself in the head
“lesbians cannot experience attraction to:” some of you have never seen a gay ass twink across the street who you thought was a cute girl
i guess what i don’t get about this, either, is how are you going to enforce this, outside of the concept of validity and realness- two entirely nebulous and subjective concepts. “lesbians cannot be attracted to x” ok, so what? there are lesbians out there who are attracted to x. what are you going to do? claim they are not valid? they are not real lesbians? what after that? what are you going to do about this at all? why should… anyone care about your view of what makes a lesbian “valid” or “real” . what even is validity? why does it matter? it all seems so worthless and tiring. how are you going to stop anyone from being a lesbian.
For context: In that production of King Lear by the Royal Shakespeare Company, Sir Ian McKellen, playing the titular character in a scene where Lear has essentially gone round the bend, strips completely naked right there on stage. New York critic Michael Portantiere, noted in his review, “Special note for those who care about such things: In a brief nude scene, McKellen amply demonstrates the truth of Lear’s statement that he is ‘every inch a king’.”
The above scene is amazing but I also feel we need to take a moment to appreciate the fact that a respected theatre critic took time to mention in their review of this production of King Lear that Ian McKellen has a truly impressive penis
gender to me is like a car i dont really want one and society would be much better if it was not structured around it. but i got one because it helps me get around and sometimes its fun to make it go fast
and people tell you to move to one of a handful of cities if you want to avoid having one, but when you get there the majority of people have one anyway and jobs expect you to as well
this is peak trans culture because this would have been easier with very nearly any other guitar design but she just haaad to use one shaped like the letter e. Not afraid of a challenge. Respect.
I would like to add that their name is E, literally just the letter E, like they’re in a spy movie. As if that wasn’t cool enough already she went and got a guitar shaped like her name. Fucking icon.
